Nature experiences

  • Experience the wide sandy beaches and dune landscapes at Blåvand, Henne Strand or Hvide Sande, among others. The area is perfect for hiking and cycling.

  • Go to Skjern Enge or the Wadden Sea National Park to experience unique natural areas and birdlife.

  • Nysø by Varde is a fantastic place to take the kids for a day by the water. The artificial lake has calm and shallow areas that make it safe and child-friendly. The place offers nice bathing facilities and green surroundings that are ideal for both relaxation and play.

Varde city

  • A cozy city with cobblestone streets and a charming town center. Visit Varde Miniby, an impressive miniature model of the town from 1866, or take a walk along Varde Å and enjoy nature.

  • Tirpitz Museum in Blåvand: A modern and interactive museum that tells the story of World War II, the West Coast bunkers and the area's cultural history.

  • Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg: Focus on the maritime culture of the North Sea, with aquariums and a sealarium for children.

  • Museum Frello in Varde: Art museum dedicated to Otto Frello's imaginative works and exciting special exhibitions.

  • FLUGT – Refugee Museum of Denmark in Oksbøl: A moving museum that depicts the lives and stories of refugees, both historical and current.
